Archive for the ‘News’

Hi everyone,

We have just about woken up after finishing our twenty-day UK tour on Saturday night in Preston. Thanks so much to all of you who came out, we had a great time meeting loads of amazing people and playing with some great bands. Shout out to the Torbay kids who let us come and play in an old boxing ring!

Our single launch is fast approaching (Dec 2nd) there are still tickets available through blue flowers here. We have brand new t-shirts to be given away to the first twenty of you to buy a ticket. There will also be an exclusive opportunity to get your hands on the vinyl copy of ‘Come And See The Lights’ before it hits the shops. All in all it’s going to be a great night so make sure you don’t miss out.

Hopefully all of you have had the opportunity to listen to the new single, but if not we are going to stream in a far simpler way from now on the myspace and website so be sure to have a listen, then another, and another …

Also make sure you have a listen to Zane Lowe’s Reaction when he played it this week here (we’re 1 hour 39 mins into the show).

You can also now support the track on Hype Machine. If you use twitter you can help us get into the Twitter Chart by tweeting out the below message from your account. You can ‘heart’ the track as well here.

Finally we are so excited to be heading back over to Germany next month for a 10 night tour. We should have the new t shirts and vinyl with us so bring your change!

Much love,

P.S. Here’s a version of Come and See the Lights we did in the back of the van waiting to play the last date of the tour in Preston, excuse the weary eyes and fingers….

a bit of light relief from general apocalyptic turmoil in my livelyhood these days>

1)Trying to get in touch with anybody at UCL philosophy department to tell them that i won’t be there for the first two weeks because i’m doing the Bombay Bicycle Club tour!
2)Going on the Bombay tour in our sleeper van, getting intimate with the rest of flashguns, surviving on a shoe string and some lint out of my jeans pocket, not having a shower, getting deeper than a navy seal!! GEneral shiiiaaat!

3) FYI, anybody used to Flashguns as a 4 piece will have a little surprise, our keyboard player oliver james wright has amiably parted from flashguns to find out what he wants to do over the next few years, Clever kid! We love that boy and who knows whether he will be rocking stages around the world with us in the future.

So quick update - been back in the studio last week to record FOUR BRAND NEW TRACKS…just demos for now. We were going to give one away in the mail out this week, but we’ve decided to post them up one by one on the player on our site, and then just let us know you’re favourite by replying to this post, and the track with the most votes we’ll give away for free at the end of August.

These are the tracks we recorded…
